I didn't mean to be rude...

I guess that you don't know what ~ means.
That page is written by a Linux-minded/command-line user and a Mac user may not understand it well.

When you save the file called lilypond using your favorite editor, make sure you save it in the folder bin under your home directory.

Disclaimer: I've never used a Mac!

Daniel,

instead of asking the same question elsewhere¹, you'd better try to
understand what you made wrong and maybe study the basics of command
line usage.

We'd be glad to help if you can show us what you did exactly.
Open a terminal, start from step 1 and when you get stuck copy&paste
all the text in the terminal and send it here.
