OK, what I printed in blue are the examples Gould gives as correct
distances for three beams.

However, inferring from what she says about *two* beams and that a third
beam should be attached to the outside one would have to say the
"correct" distance would be to have the innermost beam *center* on the
line. That is: with the note a' the inner beam should center around the
topmost staff line, hanging below that line would be considered too close.

However, setting Stem.details.beamed-lengths to any value I don't
achieve that to inspect it visually. It seems that the beam quanting
code prevents that.
