Hi Malte

The problem with the info-lilypond list is that requires a person 
(Phil) to remember to make the announcement, (besides the long list of 
steps to make a new release). I think Phil made the announcements on 
lilypond-user only.

I don't know what should be write on the website...

Personally, I would use Gitlab to get release notifications:
