makeinfo: whitespace around @alias equal sign

In a debian i386 packaged texinfo 4.0, it seems makeinfo doesn't
accept whitespace around the "=" in an @alias, contrary to what the
manual says (the "alias" node).  For example foo.texi below processed
with

        makeinfo foo.texi

gets

        foo.texi:15: Unknown command `moviecite'.
        foo.texi:15: Misplaced {.
        foo.texi:15: Misplaced }.
