    I had the following problems with makeinfo 4.2:

Thanks for the reports!

    - when going to a node, the URL always has a
      (mostly superfluous) anchor extension with "#..."

It doesn't hurt, right?  It's in case there are two nodes in the same
file.  This can happen on case-insensitive operating systems.  But since
there's no way for makeinfo to know what kind of system the output is
going to be used on, it just always uses the anchor.

    - no <p>...</p> tags are generated which causes
      Mozilla to ignore some paragraph boundaries.
      (Two paragraphs become one.)
      
Can you send a specific example?  I know that <p> and </p> are not
generated, but this should not cause problems.

    - The implicit placement of apostrophes is not 
      consistent in dvi, html, and info output which 
      makes it difficult for the author to use them.

Hmm, I don't understand what you mean by "implicit placement of
apostrophes".  What apostrophes are implicit?  Can you show me the
inconsistent output you're referring to?
