Try running tbook.texi through "makeinfo -E" first, to get all macros
expanded. Then run pdftex on the result.
It's a known problem that the imlpementation of @macro in texinfo.tex
is somewhat flakey (we should be grateful we have one at all);
makeinfo usually does better in hard cases.
