Hi,

makeinfo 4.5 rightly complains when there is a construct like
@defun
@deffnx

address@hidden tmp]$ (LC_ALL=C; LANG=C; /opt/src/texinfo-4.5/makeinfo/makeinfo
makeinfo_message_xx.texi)
makeinfo_message_xx.texi:6: Must be in `deffnx' insertion to use `deffnxx'.
makeinfo_message_xx.texi:9: address@hidden' expected `defun', but saw `deffn'.
makeinfo: Removing output file `makeinfo_message_xx.info' due to errors; use
--force to preserve.

but the error message is a bit wrong, there is an unneeded x, it is
makeinfo_message_xx.texi:6: Must be in `deffnx' insertion to use `deffnxx'.
and should be
makeinfo_message_xx.texi:6: Must be in `deffn' insertion to use `deffnx'.

The file is here, and also attached:
==================================================
\input texinfo @c -*-texinfo-*-

@node Top

@defun {my def} args @var{arg} @dots{}
@deffnx {type} {name} and now the args
explanation
@end deffn
@end defun
==================================================
