Thanks for the report.  I agree this should not be included in the Info
output, at least I think I do :).  Stephen, do you have any opinion?  I
know you use the plain text output.

    less like "plain text" and more like markup intended to be read by a 
    computer program.

Yes, it's install-info that reads those lines.
