Hi,
There is a proposal for an `info:' URI scheme at:
http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-vandesompel-info-uri-00.txt
I think it would be unfortunate if this draft is adopted as an IETF
standard, because `info:' is already commonly used to refer to Info
documentation.
At least the following software currently supports info URLs (in one
form or another):
* the Konqueror and W3 web browsers
* the Gnome help browser
* Gnus (email and Usenet client)
* the `url' library for Emacs
This usage is also documented in the uri(7) man page on GNU/Linux
systems.
I don't know if you want to do anything, I just thought you should
know about the problem.
