This way, you have to
modify each code that uses gettext(), regex(), <ctype.h>, etc.
Those functions generate error messages? (As far as functionality goes,
I suspect that we actually want calls to ctype to take place in the
document locale. But I haven't looked.)
far as xmalloc(), which - in the gnulib version - calls gettext() for
its error message.
Ah yes. Well, that sinks that idea.
