:(( I'll test with an older version of Texinfo as well as with
pinfo, just to see which the problem is.

Maybe, I use TERM=linux, always in virtual terminals.

Well, since you have not been able to reproduce the problem it
must be my fault. Look, I've tested something: if I copy all
offending info files to a local directory and use 'info -f ./make.info'
instead of 'info make', all works ok, so the problem may be in the
'dir' file :(( I've modified the dir file and the problem have
vanished. I send you the 'bad' dir and the 'good' dir. The problem
has vanished, but I would like to know why it was happening in the
first place... The 'good' one is from my last backup, before
installing the new texinfo.
