I was considering the case where you provided both DVI and PDF,
indeed.  There are some features that are still available (to my
knowledge) only in DVI.  For instance slide shows using advi are
superior to PDF.  And I don't know a PDF viewer that allows to put up
the editor when clicking on a portion of the result.

So I need both.  It is in that context that it is less machinery :)

Can't reach it currently, but I'll have a look.  I don't know it.
