../assignments.texi:7008: @image file `assignments.img/appel-c.gif'
(for HTML) not readable: No such file or directory.
(1) It should have found your .jpg (I guess it did?).
(2) The erroneous error message should not refer to .gif specifically.
(3) The documentation needs to be updated.
I'll work on these things.
I was convinced to add support for finding .gif's by some users, since
other GNU software already did this, and the philosophy/gif web page
in fact says "we will support reading gif's".
