1) Implementation of the option
--update-dir-from-info-files (or similar)
to GNU i-i. This option should only read all the info files in the
info directory and create a completely new dir file without intermediate
parsing of dir files.
As far as I understand things (not very far, it seems), this is the only
part which affects the GNU Texinfo package. I welcome such an option.
My only request to whoever implements this is to please make it robust
in the face of "strange" entries in the info directory. That is, report
and ignore discrepancies by all means, but don't just abort because a
stray "bad" file got in there somehow.
Thanks,
Karl
