Hi Lajos,

I'm developed an macro package, named: txi-hu for Hungarian texinfo
    users.

I'd certainly be happy to support Hungarian, and I know the language has
many typographic needs that the current texinfo.tex does not cater for.

However, the txi-hu.tex you sent solves the problem by redefining
internal macros like \chapmacro. That's not robust. Over time, those
macros will need to change, and it's not feasible to change them in more
than one place.

So what we need to do is make changes to the core texinfo.tex to have
sufficient hooks to do a good job for Hungarian. Then txi-hu.tex can
just redefine words, select options, etc. Can we work towards that
goal?

Regarding the hyphenation exception list you sent, what is the license
of the file? And, are you using the Hungarian hyphenation patterns?
(The latest ones I know about are at
http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/language/hungarian/hyphenation/.) If
these exceptions are needed in addition to the patterns, they should
presumably be uploaded to ctan.org so others can take advantage of them.

Regarding the pdf, I didn't get one.

ps: in the next week i'm offline (vacation).

Sure, there is no rush on anything, of course. Enjoy your vacation :).

Best,
Karl
