Follow-up Comment #6, bug #35395 (project texinfo):
The second issue indeed seems to be a bug. The manual should be created
relative to the current directory.
Regarding the first issue, a problem arise if you specify an output directory.
Then ../ is not correct anymore. I had code to find the relative directory
in the general case too, but it is not clear that it is right to do.
