Hi all,
In an old 'info' (4.13), running 'info texinfo" and then typing
1 and 2, reports on the bottom line: "No menu in this node."
With 5.9.92, 'info' still beeps but no longer shows the message.
Is that intentional?
As an aside, this translator hint isn't entirely true:
#. TRANSLATORS: This message should fit within 79 characters, otherwise
#. anything after the 80th character will not be displayed.
A more accurate hint would be:
#. TRANSLATORS: Try to keep this message (when "expanded") at most 79
#. characters; on 80-column terminals anything after it will not be
#. displayed.
Because on wider terminals, a longer string will be displayed without
problems. And on an 80-column terminal the 80th character will
actually not be displayed.
