I see there is already an undocumented option to ignore left quotes
(introduced for the 2nd edition of "Free Software, Free Society")
enabled with
@set txiindexlquoteignore
I intend to extend this with txiindexbackslashignore,
txiindexatsignignore, txiindexhyphenignore and txiindexlessthanignore.
Leaving them all off by default would be the simplest and avoid the
possibility of upsets.
I know with @codequoteundirected the use of @set variables for options
was deprecated, but I think doing it this way is harmless and will
work for older Texinfo versions.
