I've learned that Robert Chassell died last weekend.

I did not know him myself, but he had a significant role in the early
development of Texinfo, working on the first translator (in Emacs Lisp)
to generate Info from Texinfo source, and also writing a lot of the
manual. He was a director of the Free Software Foundation and served as
its treasurer.
