I've updated the demo at

(I should have used a better URL for this.)

Unfortunately, it has various obvious problems.  Most significantly, the
index search does not work.   The "hide sidebar" button at the top of the
sidebar is also too prominent and leaves too much empty space at the top.

Navigation with n, p, ] and [ still works fine.  The whole text search
with s also works.
