How to set timeout for remote_exec

Hi,

When I am doing a remote_exec on a remote board, execution hangs. I 
don't know the way to kill the hanging execution.
command is some what like "remote_exec 10.X.X.XXX a.out"

I know remote_exec calls call_remote, to which we don't pass the 
timeout, than how can we do the timeout.
