  I was thinking of the objcopy trick.  Didn't know gdb could do it as well!

  Well, I'm far from definitive, and I presume I'd need to get an assign done 
for that, but I'm perfectly happy to contribute it in whatever form seems best. 
 I'd be reluctant to actually *replace* anything already that is already there 
in the manual because I don't understand dg well enough to know if I was doing 
the right thing, and I'm fairly sure that what I've described there is a 
kludgey and roundabout way of doing it...   But it works, and getting to grips 
with dg is hard for newbs, and providing them with a simple interface like this 
that lets them get the rest of the problem out into a more familiar domain 
makes it 'good enough' :)

  Jose, please drop a note back to the lists and let us know if these 
instructions were enough for you to get it to work or if I forgot anything!
