Matching lint error messages

compile.el includes this regexp

    ;; 4.3BSD lint pass 3
;; bloofle defined( /users/wolfgang/foo.c(4) ), but never used
    ;; This used to be
    ;; ("[ \t(]+\\([a-zA-Z]?:?[^:( \t\n]+\\)[:( \t]+\\([0-9]+\\)[:) \t]+" 1 2)
;; which is regexp Impressionism - it matches almost anything!
    (".*([ \t]*\\([a-zA-Z]?:?[^:( \t\n]+\\)[:(][ \t]*\\([0-9]+\\))" 1 2)

which still tends to match too easily. I wonder if this output format
is still used. Could someone look at Solaris and *BSD and see (1)
whether they still have a `lint' program, and (2) what format it uses
for such error messages now?
