Well, we knew that wasn't going to happen.
Instead, I added some functionality to the buffers used to view
the comics (and a couple of fixes). My server is back up, so
the latest comics.el is available at
ftp://vh213601.truman.edu/pub/Comics/comics.el
(And I'll start putting a changelog of sorts in the file after this.)
