Stable Tramp 2.0.45 has been released. It contains mainly the bug
fixes for the following serious problems:
- Tramp's implementation `tramp-perl-decode' results in scrambled
remote files.
- Permissions of autosaved remote files are 0644 (security hole).
Tramp stands for `Transparent Remote (file) Access, Multiple
Protocol'. This package provides remote file editing, similar to
Ange-FTP or EFS.
The difference is that Tramp offers several other methods accessing
remote files, like `ssh' and `scp'. It is also capable to access
SMB-based filesystems, which are offered by MS Windows and Samba.
The download files are located at http://savannah.nongnu.org/download/tramp/
Best regards, Michael.
