Maybe reconsider the name `abbrev...': AFAIS this kind
of auto-completion has nothing to do with
`abbrev-modes' any more. That's in contrast to
`dabbrev', which marks a kind of junction in the
word-sence, but still checks the abbrev-buffer per
default.
