Open Software is nothing more than a return to the notion that software
purchasers should have access to the source code so that they can
modify it as needed, in the same way that the purchaser of an
automobile is free to replace and/or modify the factory heads, pistons,
crankshaft, cam chaft, ignition system, transmission, hub caps, body
panels, or any other part as he sees fit....and the GPL is the legal
document which enforces it.
