SQL-Ledger is one of those I had in mind.

Although I'm a satisfied user of Gnucash as a personal money tracker,
I think it is still a far shot from being usable for accouting in a
business.  For example, Gnucash allows it to delete entries, at which
point they disappear completely.  The GAAP require that if an entry
needs to be deleted, this is done by adding a cancellation entry which
has the same amounts as the original one, but reversed signs.
