Subject: Gnubies This Wednesday, Dec.8: Installing Software for Gnubies -
Brett Wynkoop
[Please note security procedures required. An RSVP is now required for
every meeting you attend.]
We are pleased to announce that the speaker for Gnubies this Wednesday
December 8, 2004 will be Brett Wynkoop and he will be speaking on
"Installing Software for Gnubies." If you have GNU/Linux already
installed but you want software that isn't already installed, at this
meeting you can learn how to find new software you might want, how to
download it and how to install it on your system even if you are a
novice/GNUbie.
Brett Wynkoop has given talks at GNUbies before. Most recently he gave a
talk on printing that was etremely well received. I'm sure those who were
there will agree it was clear, interesting, beautifully organized,
thorough and in general an excellent presentation. This month's talk
should also definitely be worthwhile.
Brett has been using, programming, and administering Unix systems for 20
years and Gnu/Linux systems for 10 years. He consults to clients from
small offices to fortune 500 companies on Unix, FreeSoftware, network, and
internet issues. He has worked with most versions of Unix and many obscure
Unix-like systems over the years.
