Technical interest might be an open door to new knowledge.
It was reading the Emacs documentation that I learned about the non
technical part of the whole debacle. Before it I thought it was Linux
that mattered. That it was mere technical excellency that mattered.
I am glad to think I know better today. Partly thanks to Emacs adding
important political motivation.
