                             Jack Aboutboul
                                  -on-
                             Fedora Core 5

Fedora Core, the followup to the old Red Hat Linux line of distros
after RH9, is an operating system and platform, first released in
2003, and is the central Fedora project. It is always free for
anyone to use, modify, and distribute, now and forever.

Hot on the heels of the recent release of Fedora Core 5, Fedora
Ambassador (and NYLUG member) Jack Aboutboul will present about
the Fedora Project, Fedora Core 5, the Fedora vision, and its
community. Fedora is making leaps in terms of improvements with
each new release, and its community is growing larger and more
     active all the time.

Among the new features of FC5 are the inclusion of the Mono .NET
framework, Beagle (formerly Dashboard) search tool, the latest
versions of Gnome and KDE, new stack protection capabilities, and
     Xen virtualization technology.

Among other high-profile, high-load sites, Fedora largely powers
     the WikiMedia sites.

 About Jack Aboutboul
Jack Aboutboul has been a Linux user and enthusiast for over a
decade, with involvement in many different Open Source projects.
Starting out as a user, Jack quickly grew into development roles
in various projects and served as an early developer on Gentoo
     Linux.

Currently, Jack works on the Fedora Project doing QA development
and spearheading the marketing efforts of the project. Jack has
also helped found many of the Fedora Community initiatives, such
as the Fedora BugZappers Triage Team and is the godfather of the
Fedora Ambassadors. Jack is a frequent speaker at many Linux and
Open Source related events and has created and helps run FUDCon,
the Fedora Users and Developer Conference.

Swag (Give Away) - After the meeting... unusually terrific swag from
     Fedora will be given away.
