Well, the theory is that once you touch GPLed work, it jumps up and
magically gobbles up all of your portfolio.  This kind of magic of
course exceeds copyright law, and that's what Wallace complains about
(among other things).  However, the GPL can hardly be held accountable
for the FUD and spins its opponents fabricate.
