Before you can obtain it, it has to exist.  The creator of GPLed
software is the one controlling initial distribution.

It just happens that not the whole world is a personal friend of mine.
Things might be different with you, given your friendly disposition.

So you claim that they were not profitable?  How then did they survive
and expand?
