Figuratively, of course, in the sense that it is a hidden defect with sudden 
and disasterous consequences.  I think Stallman is more of a hippie than a 
Marxist.  There is a lot of similarities, but Maxists are not such 
minimalists as Stallman seems to want to be seen as.
