Even if they are correct, it's still up to the rights holders to do
something about it if they haven't been asked.

But of course we have no way to know that they haven't been asked: such
things need not be made public.

The latest rumor in the GNU land is that all non-Plaintiff BusyBox copyright holders still alive (or their hairs) reachable by the Plaintiffs/SFLC in the GPL actions (voluntarily dismissed in the NYSD federal court) have asked and received the same undisclosed amount of financial consideration as "an undisclosed amount of financial consideration paid to the plaintiffs" <http://www.softwarefreedom.org/news/2008/mar/17/busybox-verizon/>. The breaking news is that all those undisclosed amounts have been paid in the GNU dollars! The GNU dollar is a copyleft-like hack to the USA dollar. Similarly to the GNU GPL designed to turn the copyright law on its head, the GNU dollar is designed to turn the USA dollar on its head: one (1) GNU dollar equals to -1 (minus one) USA dollar (or any other currency of a country with the copyright law in place in FOREX exchange rate to the USA dollar with the positive result turned negative). To illustrate: You pay one hundred GNU dollars for some GNUware (buy software under the GNU GPL) and bingo: You become richer by one hundred USA dollars (paid by seller). In the GNU Republic, the only currency allowed in trade is the GNU dollar.

alexander.

(GNG is a derecursive recursive derecursion which pwns GNU since it can
be infinitely looped as GNGNGNGNG...NGNGNG... and can be said backwards
too, whereas GNU cannot.)
