exporting syntax from modules?

I'm trying to export new syntax (define-syntax style) from a module.
This doesn't appear to work properly in Guile 1.4 ... usages of the
exported syntax  don't cause an error, but Guile seems to hang forever
when it hits one.  Does this work in CVS Guile?  Is there a way to make
it work in Guile 1.4?
