You can find multi-mode in the emacs archives in the misc directory.  For example http://ftp.unicamp.br/pub/emacs-lisp/elisp-archive/misc/multi-mode.el.gz.  Multi-mode is quite old (1996!) but works great.

I have a recent emacs release but multi-mode.el is not part of it.

A web search for multi-mode.el does not produce a site that indicates it hosts the latest version.

I'd appreciate more information on where to get multi-mode.el
