[h-e-w] Build fails on Windows with cygwin

From: Vijay Lakshminarayanan
Subject: [h-e-w] Build fails on Windows with cygwin
Date: Fri, 09 Sep 2011 09:52:04 +0530
User-agent: Gnus/5.13 (Gnus v5.13) Emacs/24.0.50 (windows-nt)

I just attempted to build GNU Emacs on Windows Vista with Cygwin

$ uname -a
CYGWIN_NT-6.0 balrog 1.7.9(0.237/5/3) 2011-03-29 10:10 i686 Cygwin

I get the following error after running ./configure

---
creating src/epaths.h
Makefile:860: target `TAGS' given more than once in the same rule.
make: *** No rule to make target `/home/vijay/c/code/emacs/configure.in',
needed by `/home/vijay/c/code/emacs/configure'. Stop.
config.status: executing gdbinit commands

<cygdrive/c/Users/vijay/Desktop/emacs.configure.log" [New] 422L, 16741C written
---

I've attached the entire output of .configure below

This is Makefile:860

858 # The src subdir knows how to do the right thing
859 # even when the build directory and source dir are different.
860 TAGS tags: lib lib-src src
861 cd src; $(MAKE) $(MFLAGS) tags

All the build tools are the ones provided by cygwin.

I'm using emacs cloned from git://git.savannah.gnu.org/emacs.git

And this is the last commit

commit 231bffa3e6c37164fa40ad18bd27249cc7704e30
