Many systems might have several users who have access to the
disk-drive; allowing them to mount disks hidden in their
home-directory.  Maybe they're not actually sitting at the computer at
the same time, but I have no problems imagining me inserting a disk in
my computer and trying to access it from work, while my girl friend
uses the computer at home.  That could lead to the discussed situation
of the same device mounted twice, r/w, without the users realizing it.
