Getting Vim running

Hi,

Did anyone manage to get Vim running? I failed at trying to compile Vim 6.1
and the H4 CDs don't seem to have any Vim package (and I think this should be
on the first CD).

Emacs21 installation also fails (from the H4 first CD):

Unpacking emacs21 (from .../emacs21_21.2-1_hurd-i386.deb) ...
Setting up emacs21 (21.2-1) ...
emacs-install emacs21
emacsen-common: Handling install of emacsen flavor emacs21
emacsen-common: byte-compiling for emacs21
Fatal error (11).
  [here it hangs]

Please, help me have one of these working. ;)
