RE: Booting the HURD

From: Gregg C Levine
Subject: RE: Booting the HURD

Hello (again) from Gregg C Levine
Basically the "menu.lst" file contained in the entry for the HURD,
this one:
# For booting GNU/Hurd
title GNU/Hurd
root (hd0,0)
kernel /boot/gnumach.gz root=hd0s1
module /boot/serverboot.gz

Basically I simply needed to change the partition settings for my
selected configuration. Partition one contains my installed Linux
distribution, two contains the HURD, and three is the swap partition.
And, as it happens, I do get a boot sequence, and a prompt. It's the
configuration steps that are confusing me. Marco explains that the
steps Neil created in his document are more up to date, and I'll move
to those, soon.
