Sorry for that. It was a mistake. My experience with mailing lists is limited.

I entered the lines manualy and very carerfully. I am sure i did not make any
mistakes. I didn't type the title part. My second line was

kernel (hd0, 3)/boot/gnumach.gz root=device:hd0s4 -s


To be absolutely sure i will modify the menu.lst and try boot.
