I think that even if the acl and attr packages build, they are
architecture: any, the functionality is not yet available with the
standard xattr API, see
http://www.gnu.org/software/hurd/community/gsoc/project_ideas/xattr.html

debian-hurd lists for your inquiries. help-hurd is very a low traffic
