WinCVS and CVS on HPux

Hi all,

First time with CVS , First time on the list.  Have read the manual ,
Twice...

I'm having a problem ..

1.  I just checked in a whole slew of stuff into a Directory called
$CVSROOT/Devel/midclient.  Using WinCVS
        worked great.

2. Now when I try to check out the same dir or module. it says the following
  

   cvs -z5 checkout -P DEVEL/midclient (in directory M:\Contract_Work)
cvs checkout: authorization failed: server aalennon rejected access to
/CVSroot for user cvsadm
cvs checkout: used empty password; try "cvs login" with a real password


3.  Now I checked in the module as yu09 and the Devel dir was created under
$CVSROOT and the
    midclient module was created with the correct permissions.  

    the problem is I'm not trying to check it out as cvsadm.  I've set the
preferences in WinCVS
    several times..  closed and restarted the app. loggedin as yu09 and
still it is trying to
    check out the module as cvsad. (or at least that's what I get from the
above)
