(english mail below)

Hallo,

wir benutzen folgende Betriebsysteme:

cvs server: suse linux 7.1, mit der cvs version 1.11
cvs client: ms windows nt workstation, version 4.0

Kommunikation zwischen server und client: Samba 2.0.7

Folgendes Problem tritt auf:
Wenn unter Windows ein benutzer ein "cvs commit" absetzt, und er hat die Datei nicht selbst in das repository importiert (was meistens der fall ist) dann kommt folgende Fehlermedlung:
----------------------------------
Checking in io_oic.dsp;
\\msg-4k\local\proj\cvsroot\/proj/visualc/oracle/io_oic/Attic/io_oic.dsp,v  <--  io_oic.dsp
new revision: 1.1.2.4; previous revision: 1.1.2.3
cvs [commit aborted]: cannot rename file \\msg-4k\local\proj\cvsroot\/proj/visualc/oracle/io_oic/Att
ic/,io_oic.dsp, to \\msg-4k\local\proj\cvsroot\/proj/visualc/oracle/io_oic/Attic/io_oic.dsp,v: File
exists
----------------------------------

Es waere mir sehr geholfen, wenn mir jemand eine moegliche Loesung fuer diese Problem geben koennte.

Mit freundlichen Gruessen

Hello,

we are using different operating systems:

cvs server: suse linux 7.1, with cvs version 1.11
cvs client: ms windows nt workstation, version 4.0

Communication between server and client : Samba 2.0.7

The following problem occurs:

If a user types a "cvs commit" and has not imported this file into the repository ( what normally is the case ) following error message appears:
----------------------------------
Checking in io_oic.dsp;
\\msg-4k\local\proj\cvsroot\/proj/visualc/oracle/io_oic/Attic/io_oic.dsp,v  <--  io_oic.dsp
new revision: 1.1.2.4; previous revision: 1.1.2.3
cvs [commit aborted]: cannot rename file \\msg-4k\local\proj\cvsroot\/proj/visualc/oracle/io_oic/Att
ic/,io_oic.dsp, to \\msg-4k\local\proj\cvsroot\/proj/visualc/oracle/io_oic/Attic/io_oic.dsp,v: File
exists
----------------------------------

It would be very kind if someone knows a possible solution for this problem and commit it to me.

Sincerely

Michael Hinz
