Ummm, you don't say which platform.  I'll guess Mac -- only
BBedit I've heard of.  There's a Mac CVS client; check out
www.cvsgui.org.

This tends to be error prone; changes get lost.  Sometimes
recoverably, sometimes not -- depends which way you were FTPing
when you goofed.  Not to mention that your line endings get
fouled up unless you're extremely careful (perhaps the second
most often mentioned problem here; certainly in the top 10).  I'd
avoid doing things this way if at all possible.

Same goes for remote-mounting your CVS working directory, or the
repository.

Use CVS client/server, with a client that's native to your
machine.
