Let me fill you in on a little clue here.....

CVS is *free* software (so free in fact that it's copyright is licensed
under the GNU Public License!).

This means that everyone who uses CVS is, or at least can be, a
developer. You control your own destiny with CVS. You create the
circumstances you must live with.

You in the community of CVS users are who will decide how you use CVS,
how you change it, and how you will promote it to your friends and
colleagues.

Let me fill you in on another little clue....

CVS, being free software, is not market driven. It does not need or
want to try to widen its market share. It's a tool developed by the
community, for the community. It will be used as-is for so long as even
just one member of the community needs a tool exactly like it. It may
change to adapt to changing needs of the community (perhaps even
becoming more specialised), or it may be supplanted by some other tool
that better meets new needs of the community. It may fracture into a
dozen similar, but each more specialised, tools.

So, you tell us how you're going to use/change/replace CVS!
