Just so people know, the main reason for my conservative preferences is
that I would rather have a fairly simple tool that actually works right
than to have one with lots of neat features that doesn't. I've seen too
many neat features added to CVS that were poorly designed, badly
integrated with the rest of the code, and barely tested. The infamous
preserve permissions code comes to mind, as do wrappers and the editors
stuff. If people want real development rather than just maintenance, we
need more developers than just Derek and me and we need them to be
committed to sticking around for a while rather than just slapping
something together and then disappearing and leaving us to clean up the
mess.
