Hello.
I am trying to get cvs working on a remote machine using the pserver
method, with multiple repositories for multiple users. All of the
repositories live on the same remote machine.
I have added multiple allow-root statements to the line in the servers
inetd.conf file:
<snip>
cvspserver stream tcp nowait root /usr/etc/tcpd /usr/local/bin/cvs
 -f  --allow-root=/scrinium/repository --allow-root=/scrinium/jungle --allow-roo
t=/scrinium/585 --allow-root=/scrinium/553 --allow-root=/scrinium/510 pserver
<end-snip>

I have also created a seperate user and group for each individual
repository and set them to be the owner of all files below the root of
each repository. Every developer in a project is a member of the correct
group, and the cvs passwd file specifies that they should be given the
permissions of this user.

I previously had this working for multiple developers with a single
repository, but they now get this error message:

<snip>
cvs [login aborted]: unrecognized auth response from archon: cvs
pserver: warning: this CVS does not support PreservePermissions
<end-snip>

I can't find any reference to this in the manual. Version 1.11 (both
server and client) The server is an IRIX box.

The "funny" part is that from the minimal testing I've done, it appears
to work for the newly added users mentioned above, but I have done
exactly the same thing as I did for setting the first repository up.

Anyone have any ideas? or more documentation suggestions even?

Thanks.

mike
