Cvs error no space left in device.

Hi,

When I try to checkout a module using a alais is CVSROOT/modules,
I get the error no space left in /tmp device.
But if I checkout Individual modules it works.

I have the following queries.

1) How much space is required in /tmp device with respect to size of repository?
2) How can I configure cvs to use some other partition for storing temporary files.
